About
JEJAK HARIMAU
The Sumatran Tiger Footprint Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that is concerned about the issues of Sumatran tiger wildlife. It is based in Padang City, West Sumatra. The idea to establish the Sumatran Tiger Footprint Foundation arose from the minds of two photojournalist photographers who are based in West Sumatra. They were deeply disturbed by the facts and conditions of this pinnacle and endemic wildlife species of Sumatra Island. These individuals are Andri Mardiansyah and Adi Prima.
We convey that the role of the late Nasrul Abit, the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra during the 2016-2021 period, in the historical journey of the Sumatran Tiger Trail up to its current point, has been significant. It's a long story if told. What's clear is that these three initiators of the Sumatran Tiger Trail had a big dream, a dream that had to be realized even though one of them has returned to the embrace of the Divine.
The case of negative interactions between the Sumatran Tiger and palm oil plantation workers in the Sungai Aur area, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra on Monday, July 19, 2021, marked the beginning of the establishment of the Sumatran Tiger Track Foundation.
On July 21, 2021, our campaign and education efforts about the importance of preserving the habitat of the Sumatran Tiger, which is now on the brink of extinction, were first initiated through social media platforms. Our presence aims to support the conservation efforts for the last remaining subspecies of tigers in Indonesia. It's a challenging endeavor that requires time.
Utilizing the medium of photography, we take on the role of safeguarding, protecting, and conserving the habitat and population of the Sumatran tiger, which is increasingly endangered. Photography, in our view, plays a crucial role as a campaigning tool because it has the ability to present compelling visual evidence that stirs the conscience.
